Not too many single wall rims left to be honest, they might not be great double wall rims, but they're probably still double. Not sure if what you have are single or double wall either, might want to look trough the specs to see. I have no idea what case rims are, so that's all you. Shouldn't make much difference on straighness. I'd run as high of pressure in the tires as possible (5-10 over spec will probably work), you're probably not as "thin" as you where back in the day, more pressure means less chance of rim to ground contact. They'll need a tighten and true before long. The wheels being a bit wobbly is somewhat normal, the wheels are slapped together and after a little bit of riding the spokes loosen up. So far Im happy just wish it wasnt scraped already from my wife lol. Like most guys my age, I have an affinity for the old branks not being a kid who parents bout him a $1000 bike (adjust for inflation in 1991). If the rims are better on the SS Ill buy them for my redline. The stolen saint and the redline are basically identical in geometry. They arent going to put $200 worth of rims on a $450 bike! So its to be expected.Įdit: this is also the street section which is more what Im doing with this bike now. I have no idea if the rims are single or doubled wall, but I plan to buy some case rims anyways. The tires say min 40 psi I had them at 35 so maybe the bending was my fault?

The brakes dont work, I ordered some clear brake. The chain was so tight it was binding the crank but once loosened it fines. Within 24 hours both rims have a slight wobble. Ill probably make a review thread on the asset 24.

Outside of racing, no, Redline does not have the same reputation as it did in the 80s.ĭid you see our responses to your other thread? That said, higher end freestyle bikes do tend to be a little lighter than cheaper ones (because of titanium crank spindles etc.). Lightness is not a major goal with freestyle (street/skatepark/dirt-jump) BMX as it is with racing. That's different from "Freestyle." (Even though in the early 80's people rode freestyle on race bikes). The MX-24 and the Proline 24 are both BMX Race bikes. If these bikes are so light and great, where are the vids? Looking it up the bike weights 29 lbs!!Ī redline mx-24 is around 20 lbs, same with the proline 24. I watched a vid of a guy on a wave-c sunday, says it was "the best bike ever" and he hit jumps and showed what it can do. Is anyone actually riding redline bikes or are they just buying for nostalgia reasons and letting them sit? Where are all the jump vids, wheelie vid, and abuse vids? They have a good line up but I cannot for the life me find anyone making videos riding one. I'm looking at redline bikes, which I knew back in 1990s to be serious bikes.
